October 24-26, 2008
St. Louis, Missouri |
On October 24-26, 187 women representing
all 40 of the LWML’s districts gathered for
the 2008 LWML Assembly of Leaders in St.
Louis, Missouri. The Assembly of Leaders
event, which is a leadership training
conference held every four years, included
speakers that addressed the LWML’s current
primary targets and goals: Christ-Centered
Living, Telling the Good News, Partnering
for Diversity and Building Up Our Sisters in
Christ. In addition, the Human Care, Gospel
Outreach, Communication, Christian Life
and Servant Resources departments of the
LWML gave presentations filled with leadership
tips.
The weekend also included fellowship, activities
promoting diversity, singing, opportunities
to study the Word of God and worship.
Attendees were asked to form a plan to share
what they learned with the women of their
own districts in an effort to further develop
other leaders who will “Serve the Lord with
Gladness” all over the nation.
Eloise Schultz, Human Care Committee Assistant, Gerry Neeriemer, Wyoming District LWML President, and Debbie Lee, Human Care Committee Chairman, represented the Wyoming District. |
