Who may submit a project proposal?

Where will I get my ideas for a mission project?

Once I have an idea for mission projects, what do I do about it?

Now that I have the information, how do I prepare a proposal?

What do I do with my proposal?

What happens after I submit my proposal?

If I still have questions, what do I do?

WHO MAY SUBMIT A PROJECT PROPOSAL?

Any individual LWML member, a society, zone, or a district or international synodical board of the LC-MS.(back to top)

WHERE WILL I GET MY IDEAS FOR A MISSION PROJECT?

  • Correspondence with missionaries.
  • Studying the programs in your community of special ministries to underprivileged, the aged, retarded, families, rehabilitation programs, minorities, etc.
  • Search out educational needs in the LC-MS school system.
  • Attend rallies, conventions, mission fairs. Encourage use of mission speakers at your meetings. When you hear mission speakers, be alert to needs which could become a mission project.(back to top)

ONCE I HAVE AN IDEA FOR MISSION PROJECTS WHAT DO I DO ABOUT IT?

  • Research the project thoroughly.
  • Does it fall within the framework of the “Criteria for LWML Mission Projects”?
  • Is it mission in emphasis – does it extend the ministry of the Word?
  • Does it fit into the plans and projections of the LC-MS?
  • Is it current and ready for implementation?
  • Is it well-documented?
  • Speak or write to the people involved. Ask such questions as:
    • Are there other funding sources?
    • If this is a partial funding, who will fund the remainder? What percentage?
    • Who will be the contact person if the project is adopted?
    • Will this person implement, administer the funds and conduct the follow-up? If not, who will?
    • Will continued support be assured after the district LWML monies from this project are expended?
    • What is the exact cost of land, facilities, construction, equipment, etc.?
    • Is there a budget of the proposed program?
    • What are the salary, scholarship, etc. amounts?
    • How many people will benefit from this project?(back to top)
