Yellowstone Zone

Greetings to all from the Yellowstone Zone,

The 2009 Spring Workshop was held at Immanuel Lutheran in Powell on April 12. The theme was “Free to Serve.”  Thirty-five ladies and three pastors enjoyed the wonderful food and fellowship.  Pastor Wisroth presented the opening devotion, closing prayer, and led the Bible study based on the theme.  Zone Vice President, Bev Wise, led us in the “Every Apron has a Story,” activity where we all modeled and shared our apron’s story.

The Fall Rally, based on the theme “Look to the Hills, God Reigns,” was held at St. Paul Lutheran in Thermopolis on September 19.  Thirty-six women and four pastors enjoyed St. Paul’s hospitality. Pastor Sipe led the opening and closing devotions and Pastor Rupert led the Bible study based on the book of Ruth. Pastor Sipe spoke on behalf of “People to People” and was very grateful to receive the cash and the many commercial-size cans of staples as a result of the in-gathering.

Election of officers was held with the following results:  Gwen Walker (Lovell) President; Julie Irvine (Sheridan) Vice President; Danyne Six (Worland) Secretary; Brenda Ellis (Powell) Treasurer.

Upcoming events include the April 17, 2010, Spring Workshop which will be held in Thermopolis and the September 18, 2010, Fall Rally in Sheridan.

Plan ahead!!!  Plans are in the works regarding the 2012 District LWML Convention hosted by the Yellowstone Zone.  We’re penciled in at Northwest Community College in Powell for the dates June 21-23, 2012!
