Rev. Shawn Kumm, First President of the District led the convention in the Office of Matins. The following individuals were elected to the following positions for the District Board of Directions positions:
The Nominating Committee for the next Synodical Convention was also selected. Those serving in that capacity will be Rev. Frank Coniglio (Bayard, NE), Frank Craft (Gering, NE), Rev. Fred Schroeder (Lander, WY), Robert Banker (Cheyenne, WY), and Rev. Vernon Boehlke (Pavilion, NE). Rev. Dr. David Buegler, Synod's Fifth Vice President brought greetings on behalf of Synodical President, Gerald Kieschnick, and shared a DVD presentation from President Kieschnick. He also responded to questions submitted in advance. Rev. Dr. Charles Gieschen gave the first two parts of his presentation as the convention essayist, on the conference theme, "We Believe, Teach and Confess the Lord's Supper," followed by small group discussions and the opportunity for a direct question and answer period. In addition to several District reports, President-elect, Rev. Richard Boche, also addressed the convention with his first remarks following his election. A new resolution, 3-06, was introduced by the committee, "To Provide Financial Guidance for Board of Directors" that generated a great deal of discussion. It was not adopted. A second new resolution, 3-09, "To Emphatically State the Biblical Position Regarding the Unborn" was passed unanimously and without debate. Other resolutions were discussed, though no action taken. Following a closing prayer office led by Rev. William Heine, the convention adjourned. The delegates assembled for the evening convention banquet at which Rev. Dr. Ronald Garwood was roasted and received gifts from the Circuits, His family (who surprised him with their attendance), and the District overall. Many of the delegates remained for a closing Compline service. |
